Living in Pittsburgh

Our students receive the best of both worlds: a residential setting and a major metropolitan area minutes away in one of the world's most livable cities.

Whether you're looking for entertainment or employment, you'll discover a world of opportunities beyond the La Roche campus.

In the City

Despite our suburban setting, La Roche is located just 15 minutes north of downtown Pittsburgh. This means you'll find all the advantages of a small school, but with big city amenities.

You'll have access to Pittsburgh's rich culture and exciting nightlife -- including its ethnic cuisine, renowned museums, world-class performances and three professional sports teams.

Amenities and Attractions

While the city is historically known for its steel industry, today its economy is largely based on health care, education, technology, robotics and financial services. Pittsburgh is home to fabulous nightlife and a dynamic arts scene:

  • Destinations in the South Side, North Shore and the famous Strip District
  • A rich cultural district featuring the Carnegie Museum, Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts and world-class performances by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera
  • Professional sporting events at PNC Park, Acrisure Stadium and PPG Paints Arena
