Car Society at La Roche University Hosts Car Show to Benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
PITTSBURGH, April 29, 2019 – La Roche University’s Car Society invites the public to its first-ever car show on Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The show will take place in the commuter parking lot at La Roche’s campus in the North Hills. There is a maximum capacity of 300 cars, and each car is required to pay a $10 fee, with all proceeds benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Foundation. The show will feature food vendors, giveaways and music.
“We chose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society because my dad was nominated for Man of the Year by the organization. For the past few months, I’ve heard stories about what these cancer patients go through. I recently had dinner with a high school student who has Leukemia. Hearing about all of his treatments really motivated me to help out,” Car Society President Luciano Vizzoca said.
Mr. Vizzoca hopes to raise $30,000 for the society by May 11, which is the last day for the Man of the Year competition.
“I know it’s an ambitious goal for a college student, but I honestly think that with the help of everyone, we can make it happen,” he said.
Mr. Vizzoca has created a
donation page for those who want to donate before the show.
The La Roche Car Society’s main goal is to bring car enthusiasts together and help local charities. The student club presents a unique opportunity to showcase cars, but also helps the community in need.
A rain date is set for May 5 at the same time.
