New Members Join La Roche Board of Trustees

PITTSBURGH, March 6, 2017 – The Board of Trustees of La Roche University recently welcomed five new members.

The following individuals became members of the board in February 2017:

Sister Michele Bisbey, CDP ’71, Ph.D.
A La Roche alumna, Sister Michele is the provincial director of the Sisters of Divine Providence Marie de La Roche Province. She has served as a professor of religious studies at La Roche and has held the Ketteler Endowed Chair of Theology. She was the recipient of the La Roche University Distinguished Alumni Award (2013) and the Irish Voice Newspaper’s 2012 Irish Education 100. Sister Michele also has been a foster parent for 25 years, caring for 28 children.

Ernestine Harris ’03, M.S. ’10
A member of La Roche’s Distinguished Alumni Circle, Ms. Harris recently retired as the director of human resources for GlaxoSmithKline. In addition to her new role at La Roche, she serves as a board member for the National Adoption Center and chair of St. Paul’s Baptist Church Trustee Board. She lives with her husband, George, in Romansville, Pa.

Deborah A. Holland
Ms. Holland is president of DLJ & Associates, LLC, a human resources consulting firm, board member of Mercy Pittsburgh and a volunteer coach for nonprofit organizations. She earned a bachelor’s in psychology and an M.Ed. in educational counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Holland resides in Canonsburg with her husband, Jeffrey C. Jackson.

Sister Alice Marie Lyon, CDP
A provincial councilor for the Sisters of Divine Providence, Sister Alice Marie resides in Allison Park, Pa. She has served as the business and facilities administrator, science department chair and vice principal for Sacred Heart High School in Kingston, Mass., and as board member of La Posada Providencia in San Benito, Texas. Sister Alice Marie received a bachelor’s degree from Emmanuel College and a master’s in teaching from Bridgewater State University.

Sister Ana Lydia Sonera Matos, CDP

Sister Ana Lydia is a provincial councilor for the Sisters of Divine Providence in Allison Park, Pa. She has served as an individual and group counselor of women and as head of family and domestic violence for the Office of the Promotion of Human Development in Puerto Rico. Sister Ana Lydia is a former board director of La Posada Providencia in San Benito, Texas; former board director of the Room at the Inn, St. Louis, Mo.; and board member of the Catholic Sisters Leadership Council, Divine Providence Alpha School and Providence Connections, both in Pittsburgh, Pa.
