Ad Lucem per Amorem | To Light through Love

The Sisters of Divine Providence, La Roche’s founders and sponsors, are women united in their deep trust in a Provident God who loves and cares for all creation. The congregation has helped propel La Roche from a small local resource into a viable and respected educational institution.

Due to La Roche’s close proximity to the congregation’s residence and headquarters, the Sisters are actively involved with the University community. Ongoing engagement with the Sisters allows La Roche students to build meaningful relationships with women of varied and diverse backgrounds.

Not only does the University share a common history and purpose with the Sisters, but there are many ways in which both support each other’s needs, particularly as they relate to space and cost efficiencies. For example, the Sisters have outsourced their employee human resources, groundskeeping and security to the University. The University now has several offices and classrooms in the former Motherhouse. There are employment opportunities for the Sisters at La Roche and for students at the Provincial House. Resources like the Saint John’s Bible and the fuel purchasing for maintenance vehicles are shared. The University also has overflow parking on the Sisters property and reciprocal driveway privileges.
