Simulation Technician

The Nursing Department of La Roche University is seeking candidates for a full time Simulation Technician scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2025. The full time Simulation Technician will be based at La Roche’s main campus located in the North Hills neighborhood of Pittsburgh and will support the faculty and staff of the Nursing Department and the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Director of Simulation.
  • Manages the scheduling, usage, and tracking of simulation lab equipment.
  • Ensures lab cleanliness and oversee equipment maintenance, repair, and replacement.
  • Programs and operatse simulation software during scenarios.
  • Provides support during simulation activities.
  • Maintains lab inventory, including safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Works with Nursing and DNAP faculty to appropriately integrate lab operations, obtain maximum utilization for the most efficient expenditure, and to moderate student costs.
  • Creates and maintains a respectful and professional working environment, incorporating active learning, reflective thinking, and a confidential debriefing process.
  • Models professional standards, including customer service, collaboration, communication, excellence, and attendance.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Education/Qualifications:

  • Associate degree; and at least 18 years of age.
  • Healthcare-related experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with office equipment such as telephones, copiers, computers.
  • Experience with simulation lab equipment and software desired.
  • Previous experience with simulation technologies is recommended, but not required.
