About Commencement

Baccalaureate Mass

Due to COVID-19 restrictions on the size of social gatherings, plans for the 2021 Baccalaureate Mass are to be determined. Please check back for more information.

Graduates’ Lunch and Awards

La Roche will not hold a separate event for the 2021 Graduates' Awards; however, we will recognize award recipients as part of the commencement program tentatively scheduled for the weekend of May 8 and 9.

Commencement Postponed

The ceremony begins promptly at 10 a.m., so students must arrive no later than 9 a.m. at the check-in desk outside the Registrar's Office in the Zappala College Center. Students robe and line up in the Zappala College Center, and the procession to the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center begins exactly at 9:45 a.m.

Reception Postponed

A reception for graduates, their guests, faculty and administrators immediately follows the ceremony outside the Kerr Fitness & Sports Center.

Commencement Program

Names of graduating students will be published in the graduation program and any official press release unless the student has a submitted a FERPA form to the Registrar's Office to restrict release of directory information.

Students must ensure that their intention to release or restrict this information is received in the Registrar's Office by March 1. If you graduate with a FERPA hold in place, La Roche will be unable to provide verification of your enrollment or degree to future employers or others.

Your name on your diploma will appear exactly as it does on your graduation application. Diplomas are not distributed at commencement, but will be mailed to the address listed on your graduation application approximately four weeks following the final spring grade deadline.

Any student with financial holds will have their diploma held in the Registrar's Office until all financial obligations are met.

Only your degree will appear on your diploma. Your minor or major concentration will not appear.
