Literary Society: “Voices from the Attic: The Williamstown Boys in the Civil War”
Ryan Room
Friday, February 07, 2025
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Author and historian Carleton Young has spent over a decade unearthing the story of two Civil War soldiers after discovering an enormous collection of letters in his family attic. In his book, “Voices from the Attic: The Williamstown Boys in the Civil War,” Dr. Young shares the remarkable story of two brothers who served in the celebrated Vermont Brigade within the 6th Corps of the Army of the Potomac.
This presentation will explore the surprisingly detailed and insightful letters that preserved the brothers’ personal histories as well as a powerful narrative of the Civil War.
Admission is free and open to the public.
