Director of the Center for Career and Professional Pathways

La Roche University invites applications for the Director of the Center for Career and Professional Pathways. This position provides strategic leadership for a comprehensive career development office that enhances the student experience through experiential learning (in and out of the classroom), career readiness, and post-graduation success. The Director oversees career readiness and competency development, employer engagement, experiential learning, and outcomes reporting, ensuring alignment with La Roche University’s Mission and Strategic Plan.

This position serves as a liaison between academic programs and employers creating pathways for students to realize their vocation, the intersection between their interests/skills and labor-market needs. This position reports to the Dean of Academic Success and Achievement.

GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Center for Career and Professional Pathways
  • Develop and implement a multi-year Career and Professional Pathways departmental strategy aligned with the University Mission and strategic priorities
  • Establish annual goals, service standards, and performance benchmarks for the Center
  • Create and manage department budget and resource allocation
  • Track and utilize data to assist with strengthening retention, persistence, post-graduation outcomes, and student success
  • Oversee the development of career and professional development education and programming for students
  • Collaborate with other campus partners to integrate career readiness into curricular and co-curricular settings, particularly with the Center for Teaching and Learning and the SOLVE Center
  • Manage career workshops, presentations, one-on-one and group coaching, and skill-development, ensuring alignment with NACE competencies
  • Maintain clear policies and training materials for all stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain employer & alumni engagement to expand internships, jobs, experiential learning, and recruiting opportunities
  • Advise students in the internship process and serve as the liaison with faculty supervisors and the Registrar
  • Lead career fairs, industry-specific, and other professional development events
  • Oversee quality control for employer accounts and postings in Handshake
  • Create, collect, and report administrative/departmental assessment and career outcomes data
  • Produce accurate and timely reports for institutional leadership as needed
  • Participate as a member of university committees as requested
  • Perform other duties as requested

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Business, HR, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in career services, workforce development, or employer relations
  • Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to collaborate and lead teams
  • Experience with a career platform, preferably Handshake
  • Strong data reporting, assessment, and partnership-building skills
  • Evidence of success in developing and implementing initiatives, leading staff, and creating meaningful relationships with multiple constituencies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Demonstrated proficiency in designing and delivering presentations
  • Ability to work at evening and weekend events as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience managing and reporting Handshake’s First Destination Survey Outcomes or other outcomes data collection and reporting experience
  • Familiarity with higher education accreditation standards
