Graduate Assistant – Ketteler Center for Peace and Justice

The Graduate Assistant for The Ketteler Center for Peace and Justice is an exciting, and very hands-on part-time position, serving approximately 20 hours per week. Duties include assisting the Executive Director of The Ketteler Center for Peace and Justice with programming efforts, research and data collection, social media, being present at La Roche University events aligning with the mission of the Center and supporting other offices under the Vice President of Mission.

General Duties:

  • Support social media outreach by building a social media strategy that includes quotes, polls, and examples of peace and justice happening in real life.
  • Developing a database of community contacts whom we identify as “agents of peace” and “agents of justice.”
  • Create and maintain a calendar of events, and incorporate days honoring Agents of Peace and Justice (e.g., MLK Day)
  • Support and develop programming for students, supporting the efforts of the Ketteler Center
  • Developing resources to share with stakeholders (e.g., Top 10 list of Justice-oriented documentaries on Netflix)
  • Organizing podcast guests and developing show notes for the Ketteler Center Podcast
  • Using Canva/Publisher to create flyers for events,
  • Choosing office swag to give away to students

Required Qualifications:

  • ?Enrollment in a graduate program at La Roche University.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with relevant software (Microsoft Office, Canva)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently when necessary.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and get La Roche University van-driver certified.
  • Must maintain a GPA of 3.0 in the master’s program of their choice.

?Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in event planning
  • Some familiarity with social media platforms
  • Student leadership or campus involvement.
  • Familiarity with the Christian faith

Physical Requirements:

This position requires stationary work in an office environment, walking short distances on campus, and the ability to perform fine manipulation, such as typing. It is generally expected that this position will require lifting not to exceed 50 pounds.
