La Roche University invites applicants for the position of Director of Institutional Research. As part of the Academic Affairs Division, this position is responsible for advancing student success and educational excellence by leading a data-driven and collaborative approach to institutional analysis. This role involves gathering, maintaining, and analyzing all major data and statistics relevant to the University, providing key insights to support strategic decision-making, and ensuring transparent, accessible reporting to both internal and external constituencies.
This is a full time, exempt position reporting to the Associate Provost and Academic Dean, and is eligible for corresponding full-time benefits.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the University’s IPEDS Keyholder, overseeing the accurate and timely completion of all IPEDS surveys.
- Manage the survey calendar and administration for national benchmarking surveys, including NSSE, SSI, and the student satisfaction survey, and present the results to internal stakeholders to inform strategic decisions.
- Serve as the MSCHE Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), ensuring compliance with Middle States accreditation requirements and coordinating the preparation and submission of the Middle States Institutional Profile and related accreditation reports.
- Oversee accreditation reporting for other accrediting bodies, including HEADS, CIDA, and ACBSP, ensuring the collection, analysis, and submission of data required by these agencies.
- Identify information needs by collaborating with stakeholders to anticipate and understand their decision support needs, including refining research questions and identifying key data sources to address pressing institutional challenges. Engage with institutional, state, national, and international conversations to stay informed on higher education trends and policies.
- Collect, analyze, interpret, and report data from internal and external sources to support decision-making and strategic planning. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all data reported to external constituencies.
- Support institutional assessment work by providing data and analysis for program evaluations and continuous improvement efforts across the University.
- Present data-driven insights to various stakeholders, including committees, division chairs, and senior leadership, to inform strategic and operational decisions.
- Develop and maintain the institutional statistical profile on the University intranet, ensuring accuracy and accessibility for internal stakeholders.
- Supervise work-study assistants and interns, providing mentorship and guidance to increase departmental capacity and foster a culture of learning.
- Manage the Institutional Research budget, ensuring resource allocation supports data-driven initiatives and operational needs.
- Maintain currency with federal and state reporting standards, guidelines, and laws to ensure compliance in all data submissions.
Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with data management and reporting software. Knowledge of Jenzabar 1 and reporting tools like InfoMaker, as well as dashboard software such as Power BI or Google Looker Studio.
- Strong understanding of statistical analyses, including the ability to interpret and explain statistical data effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences.
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy in data handling and reporting.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data-related issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience in higher education or institutional research is highly desirable.
