Pittsburgh Promise

As a preferred partner of the Pittsburgh Promise, La Roche University offers the financial and academic support that you need to achieve a college education.

Affordable

We’re here to help you make your education a reality without financial limitations. La Roche offers:

An automatic $2,500 scholarship to all Promise-eligible students, stackable with other scholarships, grants and awards

  • Merit-based scholarships ranging from $13,000 to $21,000 that are renewable each year
  • $2,000 resident scholarships for living on campus
  • Need-based financial aid programs, including annual and endowed scholarships, grants, loans and work-study employment
  • A financial aid office that helps you navigate the process

Study Abroad

Included as part of your LRU experience, our Study Abroad+Study USA program covers the cost of travel, lodging and most meals. Visit destinations across the country or experience the world abroad through these short-term travel courses led by faculty and staff.

How to Apply

What’s Required

These items are required for your application to LRU, so double-check that you complete and submit them.
What’s Optional
These items are not required to apply to LRU, but they provide insight to our Admissions team as we consider your application.
  • SAT or ACT scores*
    Send scores electronically using SAT code 2379 or ACT code 3607.
    Other ways to submit official test results include:

  • Letter of recommendation from a high school counselor or teacher*
  • Essay: In 250 words or less, please tell us why earning a college degree from La Roche is important to you, and why you believe a La Roche education will help you to achieve your life goals.
*Required for test-optional applicants.


Important Deadlines

You can apply to La Roche at any time, but you’ll want to submit a complete application by the dates below for the best financial aid and housing options.
  • Fall Semester Deadline: Nov. 1
  • Spring Semester Deadline: Dec. 15
Once you submit a complete application, you’ll receive an admissions decision within 10 to 14 days.
