Literary Society: “Black Theater in Pittsburgh: A History”

Mark Clayton Southers, steelworker turned actor, director, and founder of the Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre Company, will discuss his own journey and the story of Black theater in Pittsburgh. In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Playwrights Theater, he recently purchased the elementary school he attended as his new theater in the Lower Hill.
