Why did you choose LRU for criminal justice?
La Roche had a specific level of excellence for the major compared to other schools I viewed. I also liked the size of the school and other opportunities La Roche had to offer.
What do you love about your major?
I love my major because it keeps me interested with ongoing opportunities to learn new things. I have enjoyed every criminal justice course that I have taken. All the professors are great, and they make the classes even more enjoyable.
What has been your favorite class so far, and why?
I enjoyed Constitutional Law because my current focus is on law. The class is interactive, and the case briefs are my favorite part, specifically explaining them in class.
For a course that is not specifically a criminal justice course, but vital to the major, I have enjoyed taking a Spanish course. Having knowledge of a second language is important to me, and it was fun to learn more about diverse cultures.
Describe your experience at LRU so far.
Being a student at La Roche has sparked my love for school. Knowing my professors and my classmates is important to me, and a lot of the time, you will find me studying in and out of class.
Outside of the classroom, I like to get involved and give tours to prospective students, along with assisting in creating activities for the Criminal Justice Club. Other than that, I spend my time with friends and attend events when I have that free time.
What would you tell someone who is considering LRU's criminal justice program?
I would tell them to do it and to take it seriously! The more you put in, the more you will get out of it. Be interactive in class and do not be afraid to ask questions. Take advantage of the opportunities that are given to you.
