CRITICAL DISCUSS. OF ACADEMIC TEXTS

This course offers advanced-level readers intensive practice with reading and writing tasks in various writing genres involving familiar and unfamiliar topics. It provides ample opportunities to develop students’ reading speed, vocabulary-building and reading strategies, and their ability to comprehend college content reading materials in depth and independently. Purposefully selected reading tasks enhance students’ understanding of complex structures and help improve their summarizing, synthesizing, and inferencing skills. Students also engage in critical oral and written discussions of college texts, thereby also enhancing their critical thinking, argumentative, written, and oral skills.
