ORAL COMMUN & PUBLIC SPEAKING

This course provides advanced practice in public speaking required in academic and other professional settings. Students will have the opportunity to plan and deliver academic presentations, develop research and organizational skills, self-assess and peer-assess oral research and poster presentations, and improve their English oral accuracy and fluency. The course also covers performance issues in academic presentations, such as oral delivery, the use of visual aids, audience accommodation, and non-verbal behavior. Course fulfills 3 credits of Global Perspective or Core Elective requirements; additional 3 credits applied as General Elective credits.
