CRITICAL INQUIRY & RESEARCH WRITING

In this course, students are introduced to critical inquiry and analysis of literary texts and the methods, techniques, and materials of argumentative research writing. The course guides students as they form research questions related to their areas of interest, develop an appropriate research strategy, review and think critically about the information gathered through various sources, and write a short research paper that reviews and cite sources appropriately. Emphasis is placed on summarizing, integrating, comparing, critiquing, and documenting academic material for a specialized audience.
