Aviation Management

La Roche University’s Aviation Management major provides the tools for you to thrive as a pilot, air traffic controller or aviation executive.

A Partnership That Prepares You for Success

Offered in partnership with Community College of Beaver County, our unique program allows you to complete one of CCBC's Aviation Science programs while earning your business management degree from La Roche. This gives you the best of both worlds: world-class aviation training and a solid foundation in management principles.

Two Degrees, Three Exciting Tracks

All aviation courses through CCBC are fully online. Choose from three specialized tracks to tailor your education to your career goals:

  • Professional Pilot
  • Advanced Piloting
  • Air Traffic Control

You’ll earn an Associate Degree in Applied Science from CCBC and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from La Roche— all in just four years.

Increased Demand for Aviation Professionals

Aviation is one of the fastest-growing fields, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 5% growth in the demand for airline pilots and a 3% increase for air traffic controllers over the next decade. A growing workforce shortage, especially as experienced pilots retire, has created unprecedented opportunities for qualified professionals.

Compelling Earning Potential

Graduates of aviation programs are landing top-tier jobs with post-entry salaries in the $123,000 range, and a degree from La Roche positions you to be part of this exciting and lucrative field.

What Will You Learn?

Throughout your studies, you’ll gain:

  • Expertise in Aviation Management: Apply management principles to address complex aviation scenarios, from strategic planning to ethical decision-making.
  • Business Acumen: Learn key business skills like leadership, finance, marketing and more, all through the lens of the aviation industry.
  • Real-World Experience: With hands-on flight instruction, you’ll be prepared for real-world aviation challenges from day one.

Flexible, Hands-on Program

  • Flight Training: To fulfill all requirements for your associate degree from CCBC, you'll complete flight training with a pre-approved provider, gaining valuable experience in the cockpit.
  • Online and In-Person Classes: A combination of online and in-person courses in business and aviation management, designed for maximum flexibility.
  • Dual Degree Path: Gain a comprehensive understanding of both aviation and business, earning an Associate Degree in Applied Science from CCBC and a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management from La Roche.
  • Stay at LRU: Reside at La Roche for the entirety of your program, making campus life easy and convenient.

A Pathway to the Air Force

An affiliate school for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force ROTC program in Western Pennsylvania, La Roche partners with the University of Pittsburgh to help pilots build the foundation for a military aviation career.

Through the ROTC program, you can complete Air Force ROTC classes at Pitt, including Leadership Lab, Physical Training and Aerospace Studies, and all non-ROTC classes at LRU.
