LRU Board of Trustees Elects Two New Members
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 7, 2020 – The Board of Trustees at La Roche University recently welcomed two new members.
The following individuals became members of the board in May 2020:
Ralph A. Falbo
Mr. Falbo, who currently heads Falbo Group, LLC has been in the real estate development business for the past 47 years. Throughout his career he has developed affordable housing for seniors, families, and mentally and physically challenged individuals. He also has been instrumental in the creation of market rate housing, most notably in the downtown area.
He is a former trustee of the University of Pittsburgh, and currently serves as a board member of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s Finance and Diversity Committees. He is a former board member of Riverlife Task Force and the Urban League of Pittsburgh.
Mr. Falbo graduated from Duquesne University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He has two children, Ralph III, a medical doctor at Saint Clair Hospital, and Bianca, a member of the English Department at Lafayette University. His three grandchildren include Charlie, Gus and Sam. He resides in Pittsburgh with his wife Mimi, who has a firm that specializes in progress improvement in the health care industry.
Jack Zduriencik
John A. Zduriencik, known as Jack, is the former general manager of the Seattle Mariners. He began his professional baseball career as a second baseman in the Chicago White Sox farming system. In addition to coaching baseball and football, Mr. Zduriencik has held successive roles involving scouting and player development for the New York Mets, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers.
In recognition of his success with the Milwaukee Brewers, Baseball America named him the first non-general manager to receive the Major League Executive of the Year Award in 2007. Currently Mr. Zduriencik is the pre- and post-game co-host for the Pittsburgh Pirates on their flagship station KDKA-FM.
A native of New Castle, Mr. Zduriencik earned a bachelor’s degree in education at California University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in physical education at Austin Peay State University. He and his wife Debbie have one daughter, Kimberly, who is a nurse practitioner in Pittsburgh.
