PITTSBURGH, Aug. 29, 2025 – La Roche University has been named one of the best colleges in the Mid-Atlantic on The Princeton Review’s 2026 Best Regional Colleges list, released in August 2025.

The Princeton Review’s Best Regional College designations were based on its surveys of administrators at 2,000 colleges in 2024–2025. The survey requested information about the schools’ academic programs, campus policies, student services, amenities, and other topics. From that analysis, 631 colleges were chosen across seven regions for the 2026 Best Regional list. The regions, and the number of schools named in each are: Mid-Atlantic (98), Midwest (151), Northeast (149), South (109), Southwest (41), West (79), and International (4).

Together, the schools located in the U.S. comprise only about 26 percent of America’s four-year degree granting institutions.

“This recognition by The Princeton Review reflects La Roche University’s deep commitment to preparing students for meaningful, successful futures,” said Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty Gregor Thuswaldner, Ph.D. “Our academic programs are designed not only to challenge and inspire, but to ensure students graduate with real-world experience, strong professional outcomes, and a clear sense of direction. We are especially proud to foster an environment where students feel supported, secure, and fully equipped to take their next steps with confidence.”

The full list of the 2026 Best Regional Colleges and the company’s narrative profiles on the schools can be viewed on PrincetonReview.com here. The narrative profiles have information about the schools' academic offerings, facilities, admission requirements, campus culture, financial aid, and more.

The 98 colleges chosen by The Princeton Review for its Best in the Mid-Atlantic list for 2026 are in five states —Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia—and Washington D.C.

“We recommend La Roche as an excellent choice for students searching for their personal ‘best-fit’ college,” said Rob Franek, Editor-in-Chief, The Princeton Review. “We selected the schools for our Best Regional Colleges for 2026 lists primarily based on our high regard for their academics. We also took into account what students attending the schools reported to us about their experiences at them,” Mr. Franek added.

Over the years, The Princeton Review has surveyed more than 3.5 million college students about their colleges. The company’s nearly 100-question student survey asks students to rate their schools on dozens of topics and report on their campus experiences at them.

The Princeton Review’s narrative profile of La Roche includes student comments describing the University as “caring” and “attentive.”

The Princeton Review does not rank the schools on its Best Regional Colleges lists overall or by region. However, the company’s profiles of the schools include ratings—scores from 60 to 99—in six categories including Academics, Financial Aid, and Green. The company tallies the ratings based on institutional data from its surveys of administrators. Some ratings also factor in data from its surveys of students.

Note: Some schools on the Best Regional Colleges for 2026 lists were also chosen for The Princeton Review's book The Best 391 Colleges: 2026 Edition (Penguin Random House, August 12, 2025). The book includes school profiles and 50 categories of ranking lists: each one names the top 25 schools (of the 391 in the book) in a specific category. The ranking lists are based entirely on data from the company's surveys of 170,000 students at the 391 colleges in the book. The ranking lists are published in a full chapter in the book and posted here.
