PITTSBURGH, March 2, 2026 – La Roche University is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sunlin University, a leading institution in the Republic of Korea, creating new opportunities for collaborative learning, professional development, and global engagement in nursing and allied health education.
The agreement was formally endorsed by Christina A. Clark, Ph.D., President of La Roche University, and Jin-Hwan Kwak, Ph.D., President of Sunlin University, establishing a framework for cooperation grounded in shared academic values and a mutual dedication to international exchange.
Under the terms of the MOU, La Roche University and Sunlin University will pursue a wide range of collaborative initiatives designed to benefit students, faculty, and administrative staff. Areas of cooperation include student exchanges at the undergraduate and graduate levels, faculty and staff mobility, academic information sharing, and joint research projects, conferences, and workshops. The agreement also provides a foundation for developing dual-degree pathways, short-term language and field experience programs, and collaboration in practicum placements and workforce development initiatives. Each initiative will be implemented through coordinated academic planning to ensure alignment with institutional standards and national regulations.
Founded in 1969 as the Pohang Nursing Technical Institute, Sunlin University has a long-standing commitment to healthcare education and clinical preparation. Over the decades, the university has developed strong programs in nursing and allied health disciplines, emphasizing rigorous academic instruction integrated with hands-on clinical training. Sunlin’s nursing programs prepare students for professional licensure and practice within Korea’s healthcare system, emphasizing patient-centered care, ethical responsibility, and technical proficiency. Through partnerships with hospitals and community-based training sites, Sunlin provides students with meaningful clinical experience that enhances both competence and professional confidence. This focus on applied healthcare education makes Sunlin University a strategic partner for La Roche University as it expands international collaboration in nursing and global health education.
“International partnerships are essential to preparing students for leadership in an interconnected world,” said Dr. Clark. “Our collaboration with Sunlin University opens new pathways for academic exchange, cultural understanding, and innovative program development that will benefit both institutions.”
This partnership reflects La Roche University’s ongoing commitment to strengthening academic ties across South Korea and the broader Asia-Pacific region.
