Edwin Kavuma ’25

Meet Edwin Kavuma ’25, who came to La Roche from Kampala, Uganda. A graduate of the graphic design program, Edwin is making a global impact with his leadership through KDI Design Agency and KDI Fund.

What are you most proud of from your time at La Roche?

One of my proudest accomplishments is receiving multiple awards at the annual Positive Space Art & Design Show. From 2022 to 2025, each year I submitted work, it was recognized. These moments affirmed my growth, creativity and dedication to design excellence.

How did you make your mark on campus or beyond?

I made my mark through the KDI Fund, a social impact initiative under KDI Design Agency. We work with communities in Uganda to expand access to entrepreneurship training, health care, clean water and financial education. Through strong partnerships, we have turned bold ideas into life-changing action.

On campus, I served as Director of Commuter Affairs in the Student Government Association and as President of the National Society of Leadership and Success. These roles deepened my involvement in campus activities and allowed me to make a direct impact within the University community.

What is one experience that helped shape who you are today?

Participating in The Mentorship Class in Uganda played a defining role in my journey. That six-month program helped me clarify my goals, strengthen my mindset and embrace purpose-driven leadership.

What does graduating mean to you?

Graduation represents a gateway to new opportunities. It’s a moment to celebrate how far I’ve come and a chance to apply everything I’ve learned to make a meaningful impact through design.

What are your plans now that you've graduated?

I will continue working as Creative Director at KDI Design Agency, a role I’ve held throughout my time at La Roche. I’m also excited to pursue larger opportunities in User Experience design, where I can grow professionally, collaborate globally and design innovative solutions that matter.

What is your favorite La Roche memory?

I shared a strong bond with my classmates in La Roche's graphic design program. We supported each other like a family, and that sense of community turned every project, critique and classroom moment into an unforgettable experience.
