More than 200 aspiring teachers will gather at La Roche University for frED Camp University, a free professional learning experience inspired by the enduring legacy of Pittsburgh icon Fred Rogers.
Designed for future educators, the conference will explore how Rogers’ principles of kindness, curiosity, creativity, and connection can shape today’s classrooms. Through engaging presentations, hands-on workshops, and conversations with practicing teachers, participants will discover practical approaches to building caring relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and creating meaningful learning experiences for students.
The program will feature a keynote address by Gregg Behr, co-author of When You Wonder, You’re Learning, along with educator-led workshops exploring social-emotional learning, STEAM education, creative play, artificial intelligence, and other teaching strategies, along with interactive sessions featuring Carnegie Mellon University’s Entertainment Technology Center and an educator panel hosted by Remake Learning.
