Refunds for Student Aid & Tuition
La Roche University provides refunds for eligible student aid credit balances and, in certain circumstances, tuition following a withdrawal or change in enrollment. Learn more about each type of refund below.
Student Aid Refunds
Direct Deposit Required Beginning Fall 2026
Beginning with the Fall 2026 semester, La Roche University will issue student aid refunds through direct deposit rather than paper checks.
Direct deposit provides a faster, more convenient and secure way to receive your refund. Students who may be eligible for a student aid refund should enroll in direct deposit to ensure funds can be deposited directly into their designated bank account.
Exception: Parent PLUS Loan refunds designated to be paid to the parent borrower are not eligible for eRefund/direct deposit through CASHNet. These refunds will continue to be issued by paper check and mailed to the parent borrower’s address.
What Is a Student Aid Refund?
A student aid refund results when the total amount of financial aid applied to your student account—such as grants, loans and scholarships—exceeds your University charges. The remaining credit balance may then be refunded to you.
How to Sign Up for Direct Deposit
Students can enroll in direct deposit through CASHNet:
- Log in to your My LaRoche account.
- Select Billing and Aid.
- Scroll down and select Go to CASHNet.
- Once you are in your CASHNet account, scroll toward the bottom of the page and locate “Sign up for direct deposit refunds!”
- Enter the requested banking information and complete the enrollment process.
- Already enrolled? Please review your banking information in CASHNet to make sure it is accurate and up to date. Incorrect or outdated account information may delay your refund.
When Will I Receive My Student Aid Refund?
Student aid is disbursed throughout the academic year based on the type of aid and the student’s eligibility. Once aid has been disbursed to your student account and results in a credit balance, you can generally expect your refund within 7–10 business days.
Because aid may be disbursed at different times throughout the year, there is not a single refund date for all students.
Parent PLUS Loan Refunds
Parent PLUS Loan refunds require special consideration.
If a Parent PLUS Loan results in a credit balance and the refund is designated to be paid to the parent borrower, the refund cannot be issued through the student’s CASHNet eRefund/direct deposit account. The parent borrower will receive a paper check mailed to the address on file.
Before You Expect a Student Aid Refund
Receiving financial aid does not necessarily mean you will receive a refund. Your aid must first be disbursed and applied to the charges on your student account. A refund is generated only when the resulting balance is a credit.
Changes to enrollment, eligibility or other circumstances may affect the amount or timing of your aid and any resulting refund.

Tuition Refunds & Withdrawals
Students who withdraw from La Roche University or drop a class may be eligible for a tuition refund based on the date of withdrawal and the University’s tuition refund policy.
Withdrawal or Dropping a Class
If you are withdrawing from the University or dropping a class, you must follow the official withdrawal procedures established by the Office of the Registrar. Non-attendance or simply informing a faculty or staff member does not constitute an official withdrawal from a class.
Only students who have officially withdrawn are eligible to have their accounts credited according to the refund schedule outlined in the academic calendar.
Before withdrawing from the University or dropping a class, students receiving financial aid should contact the Office of Student Financial Services to determine how the change may affect their financial aid.
Financial Aid & Withdrawals
Federal regulations require La Roche University to recalculate federal financial aid eligibility for students who withdraw, drop out, are dismissed, or take a leave of absence before completing 60 percent of a payment period or term.
As a result, withdrawing from the University or changing your enrollment may affect your financial aid eligibility and your student account balance.
Registration Questions
If your name does not appear on an instructor’s roster, you may not be officially registered for the class, may be registered for a different section or may not be financially cleared. Contact the Office of the Registrar for assistance.
